We see things as we are.

“We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are.“ -Anaïs Nin

What do you think about this statement? 💭

I feel like we often miss or forget this truth…

That when we look at the world outside of ourselves, what we are viewing all

around us must first exist within us.

Beauty - we cannot see beauty in someone else, unless it exists in us first.

Love - we cannot receive that feeling from someone else, or give it… we cannot be in love unless it exists in us first.

The oppressive structures and systems of separation that we seek to dismantle, must first be dismantled within us.

Judgement - we cannot project that definition on to someone, unless it first exists in us.

The same is also true when we witness someone rise, succeed, or realize a dream. There’s no need for envy because that same potential and possibility exists within us too.

It is in fact already done… energetically speaking, if it is in our heart.

We just need to embody enough courage to align with it physically in our 3D… To let go of any fear and step into that reality, that identity of our higher self that is already there.

Gosh I know it can be scary (at first) but we weren’t meant to stay small and sit in the waiting room of life. None of us were. We weren’t meant to coast on auto-pilot with someone else’s hands on the wheel the entire time. We were meant to stretch and reach a little further and a little further, and a little further, still… and switch on our 4x4 mode from time to time to get us through the rough terrain.

Looking back we’ll more-often-than-not realize that those spaces, or points on our journey, where we ran with our eyes closed and trusted, are the spaces where we grew the most.

We were always intended to expand and shine, in our uniqueness. To radiate our light.

The more we step into our expansion; the more we step into all that we desire for ourselves, the more the things we see (people, places, things etc) are perceived through that expanded lens... And the more we come to understand that we are all connected.

“We don’t see things as they are. We see things as we are.” ~Anaïs Nin
